Ten photographs of Rome and the Vatican, from ancient streets to light falling through domes.
Places in this trip
The city in stone, the museum in detail, and the movement of light indoors.
Columns and crowds share the same streets. The sequence moves from the city and its ancient monuments into the Vatican collections, then follows the light from a high viewpoint to the interiors of Saint Peter’s and the Pantheon.
Chapter 1
An ochre street opens onto fountains, columns and the arcades of the Colosseum.

Chapter 2

Chapter 3
An open view over the city leads into the shafts of daylight inside Saint Peter’s and the Pantheon.
